How about that 'Great American Eclipse?' I searched high and low for glasses before the eclipse to no avail, but it didn't matter anyway, because, turns out — it's NOT always sunny in Philadelphia! With some breaks in the clouds though, the crowd on Innovation Plaza on 37th & Market streets in Philadelphia oo'd and aahh'd seeing the (partial) total eclipse. Cool stuff. It's awesome to see science bringing people together, even if just for only two-and-a-half minutes. Co-workers and I (the subjects of the photos below) dipped out of our nearby office to take a look at the peak of the action.
Longwood Fountains are open again and I became a member!
My newly-developed love of plants and gardening in addition to the opening of the renovated Longwood fountains made me become a member! My aunt and I became joint members and I am so looking forward to going all the time! Even if just to take a walk. It's so nice to live close to this beautiful wonder of a place.
Marsh Creek horses
Last week, I went to go for a bike ride at Marsh Creek in Chester County. I decided to go on a trail I hadn't been on before, and that required me taking a different entrance to the park. I went a windy road through trees and neighborhoods and viola! It brought me out to these horses overlooking the lake. Some of them were even cooling off in the lake with their people when I was on my way in from the trail. I was coming back with yellow jacket stings all over though, so unfortunately was in too much pain to stop, otherwise I totally would have! It wasn't the best idea to take this trail because of the tough terrain and resulting stings, but the scenery really was phenomenal.
