Germany was so different than many of the places I've been. I can probably compare it most to Scotland for it's small cities and beautiful countryside. We spent most of the trip with loose guidelines of where to walk, but with no rigid schedule of places to go and times to be there. That's the best way to travel I think. Sometimes you find the best things hidden in places you'd never expect. I had such a great time photographing in Frankfurt, Mainz and Nuremberg. The cities each had their own unique characters and feels, and I was hoping to express that through my images. I'm working on a longer blog post with more images, but here are some highlights.
When I travel, I usually have some sort of theme I find along the way. Germany was filled with parked bikes, and I loved that. I photographed parked bikes and people on bikes every day and everywhere I went. It's always so refreshing to see people taking a healthy and environmental way to work too! Also, there were a lot of dogs. I always photograph dogs, but I took a special interest here. You'll see examples of both of those themes in this post, and more on the way.
