Jourdan & Sam wed at Fiddle Lake Farm

September 12, 2017

This past weekend, my photography took a back seat to my role as a bridesmaid. One of my best friends got married, and I was so excited to share the day with her. While I didn't have my phone most of the evening of the wedding, I was able to take some photos on my phone and Lumix GX-85 the day of the rehearsal dinner, as well as the morning of the wedding.

The wedding was at Fiddle Lake Farm in Thompson, Pa., which is an absolutely stunning location. While the trees haven't started turning colors quite yet, the goldenrods were out, and there was a crisp mountain chill in the air. Fall definitely arrived over the weekend, and added a lovely feel to the atmosphere of the rustic chic wedding.

The weekend was such a great time filled with friends, family of the couple, and love. Everyone was in good spirits, and we all bonded over the experience of sharing the day together.

The bride's mom owns a bakery, so the sweets were abundant. She needed help filling the wedding-day cannolis, so some of the groomsmen and our friends were helping to fill them.

I recently went on a long-anticipated week-long trip to the Outer Banks with friends. We hung out on the beach on the nice days, played games and swam in our pool on the rainy days, and jeeped over to a wild-horse beach on one of the other days. Overall, a wonderful vacation with friends! All of these images shot on a Nikon D4S or the Lumix GX-85.

We visited the Currituck County Lighthouse one day. It has sweeping views of the bay and ocean, but man was it WINDY! The whole thing almost felt like it was almost swaying while we were up there! 220-something stairs to the top.

We passed this house on the way down, and I had to turn around and go back to get some photos. It was beautiful in its abandoned state.

Brandywine Valley SPCA takes in 27 dogs from Texas

September 06, 2017

Last night, the Brandywine SPCA, where I've recently started volunteering, took in 27 dogs from Texas. The dogs were previously in shelters before Hurricane Harvey, and will make room in Texas shelters for local dogs, in hopes of reuniting them with their owners. People For Animals Spay Shuttle drove for 36 hours to bring these dogs to safety in West Chester (at 2 a.m!). The dogs will be up for adoption as soon as they're in the system (which has probably already happened!). Staff members and the CEO of the Brandywine SPCA made the announcement today they're heading to an SPCA in Texas to help out.
